Stay Safe While Shopping This Holiday Season…

Misc 150x150 Stay Safe While Shopping This Holiday Season...The Holiday Season always brings out the best and the worst in people.  Theft is always higher during the Holidays so while shopping this Holiday season please use some caution to prevent Identity Theft.

I did a little research on the internet and found some tips that could save you some money and lots of time by NOT becoming a victim of Identity Theft.    Most of these are common sense, but it is amazing what we see here in our agency and hear about from other Insurance Agents and friends about Identity Theft victims.

Use secure online shopping sites- at the beginning of the site’s URL you should see SHTTP or HTTPS indication the purchase is secure/encrypted.

Check out the seller – look for online merchants that are a member of verisign.com or bbbonline.org.

Use caution with social media – Be suspicious of offers you didn’t sign up to receive even if they come from “friends”.  This is becoming a bigger and bigger problem.

Never give out your account numbers or Social Security Number!

Consider how you’ll pay - use a credit card whenever you can in case anything goes wrong with the order.  You should be able to dispute charges later.

Use a secure computer – Don’t save your info on a public computer

If you have any fear that your identity has been stolen contact the Federal Trade Commission Identity Theft Hotline at 1-877-ID-THEFT

We do offer ID Theft Protection for just pennies per day, just hit the reply button and ask us about it.

Don’t Neglect the Most Important Part of Your Business

Home & Auto Insurance Serving Texan's Insurance needs for over 18 years!

thank you1 150x150 Dont Neglect the Most Important Part of Your BusinessHope you had a great Thanksgiving! Now that you’re back from the break, I thought you might need a nice pick-me-up to get you and your business ready for the end of the year.

You have to keep in mind that no matter what you do, no matter what you’re selling, you can’t have a successful business without your customers.

One customer, well taken care of, can be more valuable than $10,000 worth of advertising. Good service leads to multiple sales. If you take good care of your customers, they will open doors you could never open by yourself.

Your business is dependent on your customers. Without your customers, you have no business. In order to get the best out of your business, you must give your best to your customers.

How do you deserve a fortune? Provide fortunes of service. You have to do more than you get paid for because that’s where the fortune is.

If you render great service to everyone, you will be putting yourself in line for greatness-great success, great returns, great satisfaction, and great reputation.

Basically, put your customers first. If you want to finish the year off with a bang, focus on celebrating your customers. Trust me; your customers will look for opportunities to return the favor.

To Your Success!

boost immune 150x150 Boost Your Immune SystemTwo weeks ago we posted a message on 7 tips on avoiding the flu.  We had an overwhelming response, so we thought we’d pass along some tips on building up your immune system. (If you’d like to re-read the 7 tips avoiding the flu, I’ve posted it again below)

We all hate to get sick, especially during the holidays, so here are 8 ways to boost your immune system so you can avoid the sick, horrible feeling as much as possible.

  • Massage - lymphatic massage is a great way to rid the body of toxins
  • Relax - Stress lowers your immune system…Yoga is a great way to relax and feel good
  • Music - Listening to music relaxes you and improves your immune system
  • Laugh - Laughter decreases stress and anxiety and increases oxygen intake
  • Sleep - 8 hours a night is the best way to go…less than that can lower your immune system
  • Exercise - Increases hormones that promote healthy immunity
  • Drink Water - Water is the best way to get healthy skin and skin is the body’s first line of defense
  • Eat Healthy - A diet rich in fruit and vegetables is important to get vitamins and minerals your body needs.

Be Thankful for What You Have and Show That Outlook to Your Customers!

Home & Auto Insurance Serving Texan's Insurance needs for over 18 years!

Here are some lessons I learned along the way on what to do and not to do to increase business:

1.) Don’t talk people out of the sale with your negative outlook! People are coming to you with the thought in mind that they want to buy something from you. Don’t give them reasons not to buy. Sometimes it is better to stop talking and listen to what they are saying instead.
2.) Don’t create a Doom and Gloom reality! Sure prices go higher…that’s life. Don’t scare people off by not even acting like you care about your business.
3.) Focus on the benefit! Don’t focus on the price, focus on the value the person is getting and the peace of mind. That is worth more than the price to people.

What are you and your staff focusing your energy on?  Are you focused on increasing sales despite what the news says about “the economy” or are you hiding behind your desk insisting to yourself that no one will buy? What are you relating to your customers? Are you showing them the benefit and peace of mind they will get from buying what you are offering or are you just letting them get by on the basics without trying to up sell them?

Stop deciding what people can afford or what they will buy!  You don’t have the right to decide someone else’s finances for them. Your job is to provide solutions to the problems they have and anticipate the needs they have that they may not realize. That is how you are going to increase your business and grow.
